Hello.



For binaries downloaded from mysql.com you should run mysql_install_db. Not 
sure for others.

  or not I should run mysql_install_db. Looks like I should, 'cuz

  slack doesn't use RPM.

4.0.20 is rather old, use the latest release (4.1.12).
