how to Get file modified time and date of file by using builtin function or procedure in sql? On Codd's rules, it oughtn't to be possible---it'd be a backdoor. If there is a need to know the datetime of the last mod to a table, that info ought to be in a column in a table. It sounds like you are using a procedural language to call MySQL. Why don't you use that language to obtain the file info? -John -- MySQL General Mailing List For list archives: http://lists.mysql.com/mysql To unsubscribe:http://lists.mysql.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]

In a related thread from earlier today you were advised that any interaction with the filesystem should be done via a programming language of your choice. Did you have any luck writing a program to do just that?
