Hi everyone, While I was reading MySQL manual about replication I came up with some questions. According to the manual, we create a user i.e. repl user on the master and we give him FILE privilege. Isn’t this privilege dangerous enough? I mean if we assume that there is a firewall between master and slave, and we need to protect our master, giving the FILE privilege to user repl from slave, doesn’t this put in danger our master? I thought that if someone had the FILE privilege he could load an entire file even a system file. And if that’s the case, what is the safest way to implement replication through firewall?
Could someone help me with these questions? Thanks.. PS:I should mention that I'm using mysql 3.23.49. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Before posting, please check: http://www.mysql.com/manual.php (the manual) http://lists.mysql.com/ (the list archive) To request this thread, e-mail <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, e-mail <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Trouble unsubscribing?
