unable to install mysql 3.23.49 on solaris-sparc
Hi, I'm new to this stuff. I first tried to install the binary distribution but it failed because of not finding libz.so, then I am trying to install with the source code, ./configure --prefix=/rstc/user1/erc/pushkar/mysql-3.23.49 make was okay, mesgs. were given about not finding libz.so but said it was okay and it could be linked later. but make install fails: /usr/local/gnu/bin/install -c test-ATIS /rstc/user1/erc/pushkar/mysql-3.23.49/sql-bench/test-ATIS /usr/local/gnu/bin/install: `test-ATIS' and `/rstc/user1/erc/pushkar/mysql-3.23.49/sql-bench/test-ATIS' are the same file *** Error code 1 make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `install-benchSCRIPTS' Current working directory /rstc/user1/erc/pushkar/mysql-3.23.49/sql-bench *** Error code 1 make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `install-am' Current working directory /rstc/user1/erc/pushkar/mysql-3.23.49/sql-bench *** Error code 1 make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `install-recursive' I dont' have admin priveleges so I'm installing on my own partition, thus I can't even do: shell groupadd mysql shell useradd -g mysql mysql Is that the problem?
