I just updated a Mythbuntu installation from 11.04 via 11.10 to 12.04 and hit this issue, too: May 27 12:41:26 mythmaster kernel: [ 1850.766321] gdm-simple-slav[5190]: segfault at 0 ip 7ff5a4fc6fe5 sp 77fc0570 error 4 in libnss_compat-2.15.so[7ff5a4fc3000+8000] disabling autologin in /etc/gdm/custom.conf, as suggested in comment #13, lets me start gdm again.
