[mythtv-users] Storage of currently tuned channel
Hi All, Can anyone tell me where the current tuned channel is stored in mythtv. Is it stored in the database anywhere? There seems to be a bug in mythtv 18.0 that allows you to change to non visible channels (probably fixed in cvs). I have managed to change to a HD channel and ViaXVMC can't handle it and crashes the frontend. Unfortunately I am now stuck on this channel and can't find a way to change to a valid channel before starting mythbackend. I can use tzap piped to mplayer to watch other channels so its not the card that is stuck. Mythbacked is changing to this channel on startup. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Re: [mythtv-users] EPIA 10k: Mplayer crash in fullscreen or no picture displayed in a window
Hi Matthew, Thanks for the feedback. I am using the pre6 patch from the Epia Wiki site, maybe it is different to the one on the Unichrome site. Will have to check it when I get home tonight (no internet at work). Atleast I know that someone has it working. Nothing worse than trying to get it to work and finding that no one has it working. Appreciate the reply :-) Brett Matthew Phillips wrote: On 24/06/2005, at 1:58 PM, Brett May wrote: So no one is using an EPIA then?? Michael, Bill, Matthew, Orn, MagicITX, Ivor, anyone out there? Michael, missed your post earlier. I can report that I'm able to use mplayer successfully in FS mode with "-vo xvmc -vc ffmpeg12mc" on my M10K. This is the older mplayer pre6 with the patch from the Unichrome project - not sure if this is the same one as you're using. I saw a post about a patch against mplayer pre7, but failed to track it down - it's not been posted at the project site http:// sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=102048. This is on FC3, and I don't have anything insightful to suggest for Gentoo unfortunately, except maybe that you try mplayer pre6 with the "official" patch. Sorry I can't be much more help, Matthew. When my command line in MythVideo is: mplayer -fs -vc xvmc -vo ffmpeg12mc %s mplayer crashes with BadDrawable (happens in both twm and ratpoison). When my command line in MythVideo is: mplayer -vc xvmc -vo ffmpeg12mc %s there is no picture displayed, stays displaying the MythVideo screen but mplayer is running and outputting debug information to the xterm as if it was playing the video. Re: [mythtv-users] Manual Edit Of cutpoints
Hi Mudit, That works beautifully. I had to change some of the code to point to the correct directories and comment out the delete original part as I wanted to keep the original file. Reduced 9 hours (18G) of Film Clips to about 1 hour (2.8G) in about 3 mins on my EPIA 1GHZ, very impressive. Thanks, Brett Mudit Wahal wrote: Brett, Try commercial_cut (0.4) version. Re: [mythtv-users] Can't open video_settings.xml or dvd_settings.xml [0.18]
Hi Phil, I have been working on this for over a week. Went home last night for another go at it and looked in /usr/local/share/mythtv/ and those two xml files were missing. I am SURE I copied them there numerous times but obviously I didn't. It works now :-) Sometimes I think the "Gentoo Epia Fairy" visits during the night and changes thinks around on me!! You're another Aussie Epia owner aren't you? Cheers, Brett Phill Edwards wrote: Sorry I can't be clearer as I am not at home where my box is. I don't think this is my problem as I copy things missing in one directory to the other directory and vice-versa. Could be the cause of your problem, maybe? Some (eg ATRPMs) install into /usr and others (eg CVS) into /usr/local. Sounds like you've got a mixture of these so maybe that's got MythTV confused. I'm just guessing, though, to be honest. Re: [mythtv-users] Manual Edit Of cutpoints
Hi Robin, Tried this last night when I got home. The problem was indeed jumping out of edit mode. You are right, once you get the hang of it the arrow keys are quite fast. I did work out that if I want to jump out of edit mode I must insert a temporary cutpoint (delete before) and then move it to the correct location once I go back into edit mode. Now I just need to work out the best way to actually cut this mpeg2 stream without re-encoding. I believe mpeg2cut is on its way soon. Thanks again, Brett Robin Smith wrote: Essentially, the easiest way would be to stay in Edit mode and mark up the whole recording. [.. Re: [mythtv-users] Manual Edit Of cutpoints
Hi Robin, That definately helps. I think the first line is what I am doing wrong, I am jumping in and out of edit mode so I can use the fast forward and hear the music. I think I will probably have to scan through it quickly once listening to the music and noting down the approx times of the film clips I want. Then go into edit mode and edit out the stuff I don't want using the arrow keys as you have described. I read the Docs and it didn't describe the arrow keys the way you did, seems alot less complicated now. Will try this when I get home. Thanks, Brett Robin Smith wrote: Essentially, the easiest way would be to stay in Edit mode and mark up the whole recording. [.. [mythtv-users] Can't open video_settings.xml or dvd_settings.xml [0.18]
Hi All, I am having a problem with my MythTV box. When going into settings/video settings on mythfrontend I get an error saying can't open video_settings.xml, same problem for dvd_settings.xml, however music_settings.xml is fine. These three files are all in the same place though. This error is different from that when a theme file is missing as it says "can't find" and this is "can't open" which seems like it can find it but not open it. The permissions are the same on all the files (uog+r) so it can't be that and I am running as root anyway. Sorry I can't be clearer as I am not at home where my box is. Also which is the standard install directory for mythtv /usr/ or /usr/local/ ?? It seems that different myth packages install into different areas. [mythtv-users] Manual Edit Of cutpoints
Hi All, Finally have (most) of my mythtv setup running despite choosing an epia M1, a twinhaun card, and Gentoo as my OS! Mostly I record RAGE which is about 10 hours of nonstop music clips. What I would like to do is edit out the clips I don't want, idealy into seperate files but I don't think this is supported yet. So what I am doing is kind of like manually marking commericals to be cut out. My problem is that I can only seem to keep one film clip. I do the following: * select 'e' while watching the recoded RAGE file to go into edit mode. * Select space when I get to the first film clip I want and mark it as "Delete before this point". * Fast forward to the end of the clip and select space and mark it as "Delete after this point" This is where I encounter a problem, the video stops playing as it thinks I don't want anything after this point. What am I doing wrong? I would have thought that while in edit mode nothing is saved or acted upon, I am just marking what I do or don't want to keep. Any ideas? Re: [mythtv-users] How do I edit music titles in mythmusic
Hmm tried that but it didn't work after the first one. Cursor would only tab to the times of the tracks and wouldn't go into edit mode. Possible bug maybe. Thanks for the reply.
