Ahh... dropping the card setting and re-adding did the trick. I still don't know why I couldn't just edit the existing ones, but it was easy enough to fix.I can't tell if the quality is any better yet. I was pretty impressed with the old drivers though. I record at 2500min/5000max. I was having a problem with periodic clipping of long shows. A 2 hour movie might cut out at 50 minutes for some reason. Hopefully the new driver will fix it. [mythtv-users] New IVTV 4.1 Stable issues
Hello Everybody, Yesterday I installed the new IVTV 4.1. I had some trouble since I had to move the firmware from /lib/modules to the hotplug directory. After that I saw errors about 'tuner 0' not being found. After some research with IVTV I see that 'tuner 0' is just called 'tuner' now. I reran mythtvsetup and changed it to 'tuner'. I then started mythbackend and ran mythfrontend. I went into live TV and everything was fine. I thought I was done. I scheduled a 30 min show just to test it... and... got 'tuner 0' errors. Where else do I need to change it? Thanks, Jeff ___ mythtv-users mailing list mythtv-users@mythtv.org http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users

[mythtv-users] Jumpy video with a PVR250
Hello Everybody, I posted this on the IVTV mailing and haven't gotten any replys yet. I thought I would post it here to see if anyone has had a similiar problem. I have been having a problem with jumpy video and audio ever since I wiped my box a while back. I am using a PVR-250 I have had for a couple years now. I had FC3 running fine with Mythtv and had to wipe the box for other reasons. After the wipe, the video was jumpy. It didn't matter if I tried the stable 0.2 or unstable 0.3. I recently wiped the box again when FC4 came out to see if I could get a clean slate on it. The problem is still there. I am using the recommended firmware (pvr48wdm_1.8.22037.exe) and the latest driver (ivtv-0.3.6w). Any help/thoughts? Anyone know how to capture a single frame so I could post an example? Re: [mythtv-users] ETA for FC4 RPMs?
Thanks for replying. I will try the FC3 RPMs. I had Mythtv and FC3 working fine but then had to wipe my server for a different reason. After that wipe the jitter came up. I don't think Mythtv is the issue. I think it's IVTV. I have tried about four drivers from stable and unstable with varying degrees of success from way worse to almost normal. I thought I would try FC4 just to get a fresh start. I have had Mythtv running for a couple years now without anything but minor issues (like xmltv). It seems like the problems came about after the PVR-150 support was added to IVTV (I have a PVR-250). Just a hunch. [mythtv-users] OT:FTA sat setup
Hello Everybody, I have been reading about FTA programming and was curious what a FTA sat reciever setup would run? I think I need a dish, a dish directioner, and a FTA reciever. Is this right? What would a setup like this cost? Can I use ANY of the equipment left over from a directtv setup? My in-laws just bought a cottage with an old directtv dish. I would like to setup the place to get FTA programming since we really don't want a cable bill for the few days a month we will be there. Would it be better to use a PC+Hauppage Nexus card+TV-out than getting a FTA reciever? Thanks, Jeff ___ mythtv-users mailing list mythtv-users@mythtv.org http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users
