[mythtv-users] Re: MythWeather Animated Maps Cannot Download?
Here is a hack that will get the maps to show up again. >From what Paul said is that the w3.weather.com has to be chance to www.weather.com(63.111.24.20). Well this is easy enough in the /etc/hosts add the following entry: 63.111.24.20w3.weather.com Now you still have to:(Quote) They also seem to have changed the number of images in the animation from 6 to 5. To fix that you need to change the imagecount value in the weather-ui.xml file. Look for the animatedimage element and change the imagecount value from 6 to 5. Which weather-ui.xml file you need to change will depend on which theme you are using. Some use the default file supplied with MythWeather other themes override it with there own file. (end of quote) After these changes I had to restart mythfrontend, but I had a weather map. Good Luck To get MythWeather working again you have to change all references to w3.weather.com to www.weather.com in Weather::GetAnimatedRadarMap() and Weather::GetStaticRadarMap() and recompile/install MythWeather. They also seem to have changed the number of images in the animation from 6 to 5. To fix that you need to change the imagecount value in the weather-ui.xml file. I guess you will just have to change all references of w3.weather.com to www.weather.com ? Could this be a permanent change at weather.com or is it just a server problem? Paul __ Do you Yahoo!? [mythtv-users] ivtv driver stop responding (Solution?)
I am posting this to both to the ivtv board and to the mythtv board so that if others are having the same problem they can see my work around. Symptoms: My mythbox have been plague with the ivtv driver not responding after the mythbox had been up for less then 24 hours. If I go to watch live TV I would see the dread black screen. Mythfrontend would state that it could not connect to the mythbackend. The mythbackend was still running. At that point I could not watch previous recordings because the frontend would state unable to connect to backend. Rebooting was so common that when my 2 year old wanted to watch one of his shows, he was no longer bring me the remote but the keyboard... Log Entries: I start to try to determine why the myth box was so unstable. The first thing I notice was "dmesg:spurious 8259A interrupt: IRQ7." Well according to some searches that I did this was "normal", because it was relate to the printer port. The interesting thing was that I had my printer/parallel port disables. I then seen these entries: kernel: irq 7: nobody cared (try booting with the "irqpoll" option. pvr kernel: [] __report_bad_irq+0x2b/0x68 kernel: [] note_interrupt+0x73/0x96 kernel: [] __do_IRQ+0x1bd/0x249 Mar 11 06:37:33 pvr kernel: [] do_IRQ+0x5e/0x7a kernel: === kernel: [] common_interrupt+0x1a/0x20 kernel: [] default_idle+0x23/0x29 kernel: [] cpu_idle+0x1f/0x34 kernel: [] start_kernel+0x16b/0x16d kernel: handlers: kernel: [] (ivtv_irq_handler+0x0/0x5b6 ivtv]) kernel: Disabling IRQ #7 ** I also notice that when I did "lspci -v" that my pvr-250 was using IRQ 7 *** SOLUTION NOT GOOD TO DISABLE THE IRQ 7 ON THE PVR CARD... So I went in the BIOS->"PCI Settings" and set the IRQ specifically to 3 for my pvr 250 and IRQ 4 for my pvr-350. Conclusion: I have been up for 3 days without a reboot. My 2 year old is now starting bring me the remote once again. ;-) ** QUESTIONS *** Why was the kernel "disabling" the PVR card? Is IRQ 7 supposed to be only used by parallel port operations? __ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail - You care about security. [mythtv-users] apt-get vs cvs compile
I like apt-get because it quick and easy. But there seems like after a MythTV release there are patches to fix issues. So I am thinking about pulling from CVS and compiling Mythtv. The problem and the question that I have is how do you know/get the patches for the latest release? For instance lets say I want all the patches for just MythTV 0.17 and not some code changes for the next release. How do I get just the patches? __ Celebrate Yahoo!'s 10th Birthday! Yahoo! [mythtv-users] Xine killing Myth TV watching
Steve, Did you ever determine why this is happening? I am see in the same issue in 0.17. From: steve.frank at bevcore Hi gang, I've been messing around with using Xine for DVD playback from within and outside of Myth, and I've noticed something odd on my production box. I'm using FC1, ivtv 0.19--the latest stable build from ATRPMS. Whenever I run Xine, it works fine, but once I go back and try to watch live TV, I get a blank black screen. Audio is playing fine, but I cannot bring anything up for video. I have to cold boot the system to get Myth back. A simple reboot doesn't do it. I'm taking a wild guess that this has something to do with the Xv output of the two apps using the display? Dunno. Output is via an FX5200 card via DVI, but I had this on Svideo out as well before I switched to DVI. It's a little odd, and I'm just wondering if someone has seen this before.
