I built a machine for my mum using the AMD version and added and AGP
graphics card. Overall it's a very nice machine.

The cases are a little fiddly to get apart but ok once you get the hang
of it. They are well made and the brushed alu' finish covering the
plastic looks nice.

The only real downside (apart from the obvious due to its size) is that
the PSU fan whines a bit. I have thought about putting the PSU internals
in a bigger box with a bigger fan.

P.S. This box wasn't for Myth

 doesn't record well is 'Fifth Gear' on Five. The audio is chopped and
 the picture very distorted/blocky. Anyone else seeing this? It seems to
 only be this particular program, I guess there's something 'funny' in
 the stream for that particular show. I get the same problem playing the
 .nuv file in mplayer, so it's definitely on the backend side.

 I'm running CVS from 24/04/05. I'm recording in TS mode with HW decoding.

 I've got the Xtraview (v2) patch installed, which I suspect might be
 causing the problem.

I watched it last night (via a recording) with no problems. I don't have
that patch you mention. I also use TS mode with the HW decoding checked.

My system is an EPIA combined front and backend with a Nova-T.

Simeon

 Any thoughts?

 Neale.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. Doesn't seem to be working for me though :-(
The following shows what I commented out.

//The following was found to break EIT guide for

//if (n.LinkageType == 4)
//{
//PrivateTypes.GuideOnSingleTransport = true;
//PrivateTypes.GuideTransportID = n.LinkageTransportID;

So far I have tried BBC 1 N from 10788 V and BBC NEWS 24 from 10773 H.
No guide data yet but a LOT of SIParser: Unknown Descriptor messages.

 No...

 Here's the mail Yalor sent me. I'm attaching the dump generated by this app.

Thanks for that. I'll have a go at that tonight.

 What provider are you attempting to use EIT with? There are many descriptors
 that are not handled at this point in time.. 99% of which are not really
 necessary..

  I'm not sure how to debug this. I've tried running the backend with -v
  siparser and it resulted in a lot of Unknown Descriptor messages.
  Could it mean that my provider's tables are not in myth?

 Download and run that while you are tuned to a single multiplex (you can use
 zap
 in another window to control which multiplex you are on).. Stop the trace when
 you get 1 0x12 packets.. It should be obvious.. Then email me that
 output..
 If you could run this for every multiplex you have that would be greatly
 appreciated..

[mythtv-users] DVB-S EIT Data?

2005-04-21 Thread Simeon Walker
Hi,

Using a recent cvs myth compile does anyone see EPG info from a DVB-S
card?

I have myth compiled appropriately and I get data from my DVB-T
card but nothing from DVB-S.

I'm in the UK and most of the channels I found are on Astra 2D.
Does anyone (or anyone in Europe) get EPG data from DVB-S?

Regards,
Sim
