[mythtv-users] Problem: Jitter/jumps and no menus

2004-12-25 Thread Soren Pingel Dalsgaard
Having finally installed my PVR-350 and getting a nice image on my tv
I am facing two problems. I have searched the archives with no luck -
if this has been dealt with before please point me in the right
direction - thanks

1) The picture is jumpy / jittery /jerky. It makes a brief pause once
or twice per second. This was also true when I had the picture on
   my monitor

2) There are no menus on the tv - pressing 'm' appears to do nothing.

I am runinnig gentoo linux and have tried various versions of ivtv
(0.3.2a is the only version that locks up). My PVR-350 is brand new -
could this be a new bug in a new chip?

[mythtv-users] Is audio-card required?

2004-12-25 Thread Soren Pingel Dalsgaard
I am finally am to assemble a system which has the components I
need/like: PVR-250 + PVR-350. I removed my Soundblaster card as I
assumed the PVR-350 would get audio through the tuner and deliver
sound on the tv-out. But when I configure myth there is nothing for me
to select on "Audio device". Is a sound card required and how should I
cable things up with more than one tuner card?

On a side note - what are all the videoX's for? 0 and 1 are for my
PVR's and 2 if for a cheap tuner card with no en/decoder. But I also
have 17, 24, 25, 32, 33 and 49.

Best regards,
  Søren Pingel Dalsgaard

[mythtv-users] pvr250 + dxr3

2004-12-04 Thread Soren Pingel Dalsgaard
Has anybody tried getting a dxr3 (using em8300-modules) to work with
mythtv. It *should* work just like the output to a pvr350 but even
when I enable output to PVR350 and select /etc/em8300_mv-0 I get the
picture on my monitor and not on the composite out of the em8300.

Thanks,
Soren

[mythtv-users] Getting ivtv-0.2.0 to work?

2004-12-04 Thread Soren Pingel Dalsgaard
Hi again,

I have a pc with two tuner cards (medion 5044 and pcr250). A week ago
I downloeaded ivtv-0.3.1 and installed it manually on my gentoo box. I
got a picture with not problem but now I have unrolled that version
and emerged 0.2.0-rc3. This gives me no picture (just a blank screen)
when I try to "Watch TV".

Next I tried unmerging ivtv and installing it manually -- no luck
either.

The funny thing is that if I do "cat /dev/v4l/video0 >test.mpg" and
then use mplayer to watch it I get a nice tv-picture (all snow, but
looks promising).

Mythfrontend does not respond to any keypresses (on my keyboard - lirc
has been postponed until I have the pvr250 running)

[mythtv-users] Getting rid of msp3400?

2004-12-04 Thread Soren Pingel Dalsgaard
After getting the ivtv-0.2.0-rc3 I got that installed (thanks) but it
complains about msp3400 being installed in the kernel but I have no
ideas how to get this problem fixed. I have som msp3400.ko files lying
in

  /lib/modules/2.6.9-gentoo-r6/kernel/drivers/media/video/msp3400.ko
  /usr/src/linux-2.6.9-gentoo-r6/drivers/media/video/msp3400.ko

Thanks for your input!

Also thanks to David. Can I just insert this new url in a portage file
somewhere to make emerge auto-accept it?
