Ah! That makes perfect sense. Did you ever find a workaround for it, or do you just live with it? Hi, I've seen a similar behaviour on my DVB-S recordings. Changing the "use video as time base" (or something familiar) in payback settings solved this. Good day, cyth ___ mythtv-users mailing list mythtv-users@mythtv.org http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users

After doing all that, my problem did not go away, so I'm very curious to see what may fix this, as it has essentially broken the commercial flagging. BTW, I get variation now anywhere from 30 min to 1 1/2 hrs for a 1 hr show. Its nice to know I'm not alone. Maybe the problem only strikes people named "Andrew" ;) Are you also running an air2pc? Or are you recording from some other source? My errors seem to be a fairly consistent at either 10% too small, or 10% too large. Never as much as yours. Hoping it was a database issue, I rebuilt from a more recent CVS (the old build I had been running was just after the commit in late Feb. which "invisibly" changed how myth does database connections). A show recorded and flagged after my rebuild was still off by 10%. If you figure this out, please let me know. I'll do the same for you.. Drew I noticed a problem like this when I first started recording HD shows. I think it may be related to myth using the framerate / total frames to determine the length of the show. My HD shows have the actual show recorded at 24fps and the commercials at 30fps and based on that the show length would be calculated wrong. I think my shows were coming in around 53 minutes. - James ___ mythtv-users mailing list mythtv-users@mythtv.org http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users

Last night I recorded some things from CBS, and the OSD shows a length of around 54 minutes for a one hour show ("Numbers" pilot) when doing fast forward or rewind. And again, the commercial skip gets progressively further off as the show plays. So, NBC's shows are 10% "too long", and CBS shows are 10% "too small", which seems to mess up commercial skip. Is there some setting I have wrong? Is this a bug that others have seen? Please help. [mythtv-users] 1hr show == 66 minutes?
When watching one hour HD shows recorded by my Air2PC, I've noticed that the progress meter claims the show is 1:05:29 long. This is off by roughly 10% from the real length of the show. I'm hoping that this may explain why commercial skip isn't working for me. What I'm seeing is that commercials are flagged, but at the wrong points in the show. At first, the flagged commercials are nearly dead on, but as the show progresses, they get further and further out of sync. By the end of the show, the commercials are off by 5 minutes or so. I don't know if this is HD only because I do not have an analog tuner card. I'm running CVS from Feb 27th. I'm using XVmc, and analog (/dev/dsp) sound. Any ideas what I can do I get rid of this time dilation? I'm not using time-stretch (though I've tried it, and its really, really cool).
