There are so few options for editing, it would be nice for people who don't want to map lots of keys to their keyboard to have: -Load Commercial Skip List -Clear All Cut Points -Queue For Transcode (which I know is in the regular playback menu) -Jump To Next Commercial Point -Jump To Previous Commercial Point Ugh. I would absolutely *hate* using a remote for editing my cutlists. Shoot me now. Its not bad, I have the arrows for moving around, PageUp/Down are channel up and down. The only things *I'm* missing are the load and clear cutpoints and begin transcode (which is in the regular menu during playback). It would just be nice to have the other options, and whatever future options might become available in a menu. In the couple times I've played with it, moving around with the remote is as fast as the keyboard, I just can't load commercial points. Sure, one could argue that the default keys and user interface are counter-intuitive to a new user, but I'll challenge you and your remote to a cutilst-a-thon with me using my wireless keyboard any day fine, I've done it twice, so I wouldn't doubt it. But I'm not worried about shaving a minute off the total time it takes to setup a cutlist for a show and since my commercial flagging is about 90% accurate I have no issues loading them and changing them as needed. -- Steve ___ mythtv-users mailing list mythtv-users@mythtv.org http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users

I'm not sure if this was the default mapping, but the keys that I use for SKIPCOMMERCIAL and SKIPCOMMBACK (Z/Q) are also mapped to LOADCOMMSKIP and CLEARMAP. Since I already had those keys mapped on my remote, and I don't need them while EDITING, I figure it's a good fit. You also could overload your PageUp and PageDown keys to something else... you're not using channel switching while editing. ___ mythtv-users mailing list mythtv-users@mythtv.org http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users

Well, I'm using Home and End so I can use the same button to jump around by a full day in the EPG. I will most likely map them to one of my LCD buttons, but again, it would help those that want to have minimal buttons on their remote. Since I already had those keys mapped on my remote, and I don't need them while EDITING, I figure it's a good fit. [mythtv-users] Edit Mode overlay menu?
is there a menu for the edit mode such that I don't have to learn all the keys to my remote? I can't find a keymapping for one in the docs, but I've noticed that doesn't mean much for SVN... -- thanks, Steve ___ mythtv-users mailing list mythtv-users@mythtv.org http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users
