In FC4, that spot is /lib/firmware Copy the firmware files for your PVR500 or HD3000 to that folder. The naming scheme for these files has also changed with the inclusion of dvb dirvers in the kernel. These files now start with v4l-. The PVR files have changed names over time too (Hah!, Since June!). So it would not hurt if you have copies with the 'old' style names, either. It should contain the line: FIRMWARE_DIR=/lib/firmware. If your firmware is located there it should work. Did the names/locations change between 4.1 and 4.2? my 4.1 system loads up just fine. The 4.2 fails to load the firmware... I checked firmware.agent and my FIRMWARE_DIR is /lib/firmware.
