the them to not browsable in the video set util, and arrange a default
filter to only show objects that are browsable.

i have the same problem, this solves it.

 Rejoining the files does indeed work well, assuming they are avi's at
 least. Personally I use avimerge which is part of transcode.
 Unfortunately I have yet to find a suitable solution for ogm's.

Does AVIMERG work on WMV (m$ ASF wrapper I think) files? I know newer
version of virtual dub do not which leaves *shudder* the ms media
client thing that...well lets just a rather not use it. I'ts only a
small percentage of my files but it would be nice to do a series of
joins on a few of them.

[mythtv-users] MythVideo Question

2005-04-13 Thread Chris Clarke
Hi All,

I have some movies that are in 2 files (cd1 cd2.) I've got them
playing no problem, with the second file starting at the end of the
first, but I was wondering if there was a way to only show the first
file in the listings. That way there would be only one movie poster
for any given movie, instead 2 for some and 1 for others. I've tried
playing with the Browsable setting but it doesn't seem to make a
difference?

TIA,

Chris Clarke

I don't have my MythBox in front of me, but there is a setting to
customize the videos that are shown. You will need to set the default
filter to only show browseable videos.

Re: [mythtv-users] Mythvideo question

2005-01-19 Thread Travis Osterman
 I was wondering if its possible for mythvideo to have videos from
 multiple folders, ie if i have more than one hard drive with videos on
 them?

You were right on with the sym-links, that is exactly what I do. My
setup is like this:

/video/videos is the folder I point myth to
when I want to add a video source I can do it like so

$ ln -s /mnt/server-share /video/videos
which gives your /video/videos/server-share

or

$ ln -s /mnt/server-share /video/videos/dvds
which gives your /video/videos/dvds

either way works.

if you want to see where your symlinks point use the -l option with ls
$ ls -l /video/videos
dvds - /mnt/server-share

If later you need to remove them, remember not to have a trailing slash with rm
$ rm /video/videos/dvds works
but not
$ rm /video/videos/dvds works/

Hope this helps.
