Re: [mythtv-users] Problems with sound watching TV
Right, I did it with F10/F11 keys, but sound doesn't work. I'm using ALSA drivers on Ubuntu. On lun, 2006-01-16 at 21:22 -0600, Reuben Perelman wrote: > You need to increase the volume in mythtv. Re: [mythtv-users] Problems with sound watching TV
You need to increase the volume in mythtv. There is a keyboard key that you use to do it, but I forget what it is. [mythtv-users] Problems with sound watching TV
Hello, I've tried to watch TV, but I get following failure: sound is very very very very ... very low, nearly null. Right: I've a pinnacle PC TV connected to a SB Live 5.1! through line input, and works right when watching TV on xawtv, or listening an external sound font (mp3 player). I tried to record sound when showing tv with xawtv and it worked, low sound, but worked (I used audacity). When I try mythfrontend, I can view TV but *not* listen it (sound is nearly null and line-input connected to tv-card), but if a plug another sound font, like mp3 player, I can listen something, altought with mp3 player volume on top. Where may be the failure ? A hardware issue when recording ? Mythtv issues ? Thanks. ___ mythtv-users mailing list mythtv-users@mythtv.org http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users

Not in my case - the docs talk about leaving line-in (or CD-in for my internallyt conected card) as the record source but muted. Sounds like you're getting the TV audio feed directly through the soundcard's mixer, rather than from mythfrontend itself. Try this: Set your line-in to record, then turn the volume all the way down (or mute it). You may have a separate "capture" or "input gain" setting to control the recording volume (depending on your card and mixer program); make sure it's set appropriately. Then make sure your master and pcm controls are set so you can hear the audio coming from mythfrontend. -rick ___ mythtv-users mailing list mythtv-users@mythtv.org http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users
[mythtv-users] Problems with sound
Fedora 3, ATrpms, 2GHz processor, AverTV Studio Bt878 card I have MythTV mostly working except for the following sound problems: 1. When watching live TV, I may have to disable then re-enable the Line In (using kmix or gnome-volume-control) to get sound to come out of the card. 2. When I exit mythfrontend, it still plays the sound. Is is supposed to turn off the sound on the card or the Line In? 3. There is a delay between the person speaking and the sound (I don't get this delay with tvtime). Is this because the Bt878 card is a software decoding card? Is there any way to get around this?
