[mythtv-users] Re: [linux-dvb] DViCO FusionHDTV DVB (ATSC/QAM) and MythTV

2005-07-26 Thread Todd Ignasiak
Hi Jack,

My experience has been that the MythTV scan will not find channels
that don't have PSIP data. On my cable system, all the local channels
are rebroadcast without modification, which includes the PSIP data.
MythTV finds these channels. There are several cable-only HD
channels which are broadcast without PSIP data, and MythTV does not
find them.

In these cases, I edited the channel data to point MythTV to the
frequencies where I knew the channels were. There was just another
post asking about this on the list. I'll post some mods for
mythweb to help with this, and some more info on the changes, as soon
as I can.

Thanks for the pointer. I will try this out after I attempt the next
challenge -- getting my pchdtv.com HD3000 card working in the same
system.

It is one of the options on the Channel Scan page.I don't have
access to that system right now, but I believe there is a pull-down
menu for selecting ATSC or QAM256 scan types in the channel scan page.
This was in all the versions I have tried.
