Re: [mythtv-users] Removing Channels from Guide
Actually, I don't think they will go away. After the 12 days of data is gone the EPG will say "unknown" for those channels. At least that's what happened to mine. What I did is install Webmin, for all of those linux newbies and non-experts like me . . . Webmin is your friend. www.webmin.com Webmin has a mysql manager (among many other management utils) that will allow you to browse the DB and delete entries you don't want. The channel info is listed under mythconverg > channels(i think, I'm not at my machine), click "view data" find the channels you want to get rid of, click the check box on the right, then click "delete selected rows". Voila! Make sure you removed them from zap2it or they will come back on your next update. --pete >Wed, 23 Feb 2005 11:55:13 -0500, Dan Wilga <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > At 10:37 PM -0500 2/22/05, Thom Paine wrote: > >I had a couple of channels that I removed from my zap2it info, and > >when I ran mythfilldatabase they didn't remove from my on screen > >guide. Re: [mythtv-users] Removing Channels from Guide
I think this is all stored in the database. Probably the best thing to do would be to remove all the channel data in mythtvsetup wouldn't it??? I had a couple of channels that I removed from my zap2it info, and when I ran mythfilldatabase they didn't remove from my on screen guide. Is this not the right way to do that? I am not sure about digital, but I have unchecked all the channels I get up on the zap2it site in my profile. I had to do nothing on the mythtv end as I remember. You could try going into mythweb and followinf the links Settings --> Channels and then checking the boxes against the channels you want to delete and then clicking the Save button. [mythtv-users] Removing Channels
This may seem like a silly question, but what is the correct way to remove channels? I went into mythsetup and set a few channels that don't come in as not-visible. This made them not show up in the Program Guide for recording, but channel up/down still scroll through them. I have digital cable (comcast) and there are a TON of channels that I won't get. I'd like to remove all of them so that it doesn't make me think I can record movies that I can't. Additionally, the way the channel-change program is designed, changing to some of these channels will fail, making it try for a few minutes, eventually turning off the cablebox, which is rather annoying.
