[mythtv-users] What decides channel order?
Me again, noticed that the channel order in EPG has changed for me. In the big Guide ableu it is OK and in mythweb also, but when checking what is on in another channel during LiveTV, the sequence is different and not accroding to channel numbers as I would like. The problem I have, and I searched for an answer (and asked a month ago) was why do my ATSC channels seem to be picked randomly when going up and down? For instance, my channel numbers are: 2-1 4-1 4-2 5-1 7-1 9-1 9-2 9-3 9-4 9-5 11-1 11-2 etc. When pressing up-arrow from 7-1, sometimes I get 9-4, sometimes 9-1. When pressing down-arrow from 11-1 I mostly get 9-1. Furthermore, I can never get the next subchannel of it's main channel. For instance going from 4-1 I can never get 4-2. Are you getting a message in the logs like: Your channel ordering method channel number (numeric) will not work with channels like: channum Consider switching to order by database order or channel number (alpha) in the general settings section of the frontend setup Switched to channelorder order. Which table is used for changing channels? The "channel" table? Sorry, nothing in the logs. But I also dicovered the randomness that Brad talked about: In my case it isn't random, but: It works as expected the first tim I browse up/down, but after that the ordering will change; Consistently though: It will always be the same wrong order after that.
