I also have finally decided to see how good the commercial skip feature is in myth, and I must say it works great. My tv watching just improved even more. Again, big thanks to all who have made myth what it is. ___ mythtv-users mailing list mythtv-users@mythtv.org http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users

While watching a recording, press "a", then use the right and left arrows to speed up or slow down. I find that if a person has a strong accent, they are harder to understand at higher speeds than people with an accent you're used to. And of course some people naturally talk faster than others. One could imagine algorithms that look for gaps between words and try to figure out if there is a fast talker or a slow talker, or no talking at all, and adjust the speed of play (though not tremendously) as things change. I have found that because of this you like to play with the playback speed rather than leave it constant, which implies I might want to move it to its own set of keys (at least when on a keyboard) rather than having the adjustment be a "mode" you have to press A to get. (Actually up arrow and down arrow probably don't need to be large jumps when pgup/pgdn already do that) or one could use shift-arrows etc. ___ mythtv-users mailing list mythtv-users@mythtv.org http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users

I just watched Iron Chef America at 1.5x. Don't know about the chefs, but I'm exhausted. I think I'll go take a nap. I can't wait to watch the Tour de France at 1.5x. ;-) Lonnie Borntreger ___ mythtv-users mailing list mythtv-users@mythtv.org http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users
