The PVR-x50 cards use the less-common RC-5 IR protocol, so they may be slightly more difficult to find a remote for, but they'll work with just about any Philips, Magnavox or Marantz remote, or a universal programmed as a Philips (this is what I do). The bigger issue is coming up with a functional lircd.conf for your remote if one doesn't already exist, but there are quite a few sample files provided with lirc that should get you close.
