Yeah, I did it once so I could make the cable box change channels
quicker. If it gets all three digits, it changes right away and doesn't
wait a second or two.
Whats worse is that, I can't remember what I did for that because now my
cable company has expanded the channel lineup to have 4 digit channels
(above channel 999), so now I'm back to where I was before.
Please let me know if you get this sorted out!

Uhhh... don't. You're digging in the wrong spot. Just change the
channel-changing script to add the leading zeroes.
