I've tried XVMC in 1.0pre6 (1.0pre6a), I didn't get/see any benefit on an up to date FC3 box. You might get better mileage. As a cautionary note, there must be a reason why XVMC is disabled by default. All other useful options are auto-detected. I add '--enable-largefiles' you might also consider '--enable-gui' if you connect remotely or have a monitor attached to your box.
