Run mythsetup, its under the options for your dvb card.

In TS mode + - change sound sources as well.

I made my first TS recording overnight and after manually specifying
the cutlist and transcoding to NUV MPEG4 the cuts are just about
perfect. There are a couple of frames shown of the end of the
commercial, but I can probably prevent that by placing the cutpoint in
a couple.

I am now trying the commercial flagger on the new series of 24. I
don't know how it will turn out but here is hoping...I am running out
of disk space quick :|

What settings do you mean? The main thing is to change to TS if you are
having offset problems and I am using the all flagging method. It still
misses a few ads but is quite usable (unlike when using PS). I believe you
can also turn the sensitiviy down in the menu so it recognises more
commercials (but more likely to mistake a show for a commercial).

Matthew.

Could you tell me what settings you are using to get it to
work? I am new to mythtv, but this feature is high on my
list of things to get working.

Yes, the flagging method was one of the settings. I had the default
(blank frame detection) turned on, but it wasn't working. Also, do you
have 'Strict Commercial Detection' checked? As for sensitivity, I have
not discovered anything to adjust that yet.

thanks

Thanks Paul,

The change to TS seems to have fixed the problem (I havn't tried a cutpoint
yet but the commercial flagging offset is fixed).

I assume that commercial flagging is optimized for US TV

Hey Matt, where are you from?

Your issues look almost identical to ones I have had with both
cutpoints and comm flagging.

I put the flagging down to the crazy aussie broadcasters. I thought
the cut-points must also be casued by the aussie DVB-T streams or
something, otherwise, it would have surely been fixed if it was
common.
