Boa tarde lista,

Alguém conhece algum plugin para verificação dos alertas do Oracle.
Tentei utilizar o check_logfiles mas não funcionou.

Re: [Nagios-users] On-Call Rotation

2007-12-26 Thread Robert Ferguson
Yes, I am using 3 and it could very well be a bug.

If I am reading the documentation correctly, specifically starting on
page 231 of the Nagios 3 doc, with this setup, it will rotate every 14
days or 21 days or what every you set. Say I am on call this week on
Monday, 14 days later it will start again.

Anyway, how would I report this as a bug or is there a syntax error I am
missing?

Thanks

Robert

This pretty useful, I didn't know once could do this and would like to.
However, I run nagios 2 and it appears this is only available on nagios
3, are you using nagios 3?

If so, maybe it's a bug in this new feature? Also, this looks like it
would only do Dec 24, 25, then Jan 7,8, then Jan 14,15 (what you want?)
but I may be misreading the documentation.

Re: [Nagios-users] On-Call Rotation

2007-12-26 Thread Robert Ferguson
After reading your post and thinking about it, I decided to backup and
then upgrade to the latest release which is 3.0rc1. (I was on 3.0b4.)
I read the release notes and didn't see anything except where they added
the exclude option in version 3.0b1 but I was already on a version
after that. After the upgrade, the new directives seem to be working.
At least when I verify the cfg files, no errors come up.

Thanks for your help.

Robert

 In the /usr/local/etc/nagios/nagios.cfg of the master nagios server

 cfg_dir=/usr/local/etc/nagios/slaves/

 There those directories:

 /usr/local/etc/nagios/slaves/

 In each of the directories, there are services/hosts cfg files for
 each nagios slave.

 What I am trying to accomplish is for the master nagios server's
 nagios.cfg to include all those slaves' directories with a single
 line.

 Is there a way to include several directories recursively?

  I thought it already did this. Are you using 3.x?

 Yep.

 I could see that it did not include the deeper config files.

Excuse me:

I'm using nagios-3.0.b7 on FreeBSD 6.2.

Here are the sample lines that I pasted from the nagios.cfg.

cfg_dir=svchosts.FBSD03/
cfg_dir=svchosts.FBSD03/clients
cfg_dir=svchosts.FBSD03/servers
cfg_dir=svchosts.FBSD03/networks

I commented out the last 3 lines and did nagios -v on the nagios.cfg.

It errors with no hosts and services defined.

When I removed the comments from those last 3 lines and redid the
nagios -v on the nagios.cfgit did not error.

[Nagios-users] contact group notification

2007-12-26 Thread Robert Ferguson
Hi All,

Has anyone noticed that contact groups other than admins or a default
install are not being notified. I have setup a couple of other groups
windowsadmins and linuxadmins neither of which are being notified.
I have on some of my windows boxes that windowsadmins are the only
group being notified and the admins group is the only actual group
being notified.  Suggestions?

Thanks,

Robert

Re: [Nagios-users] CFG_DIR recursive feature..

2007-12-26 Thread Chris Haulmark

   Yep.

   I could see that it did not include the deeper config files.

  Excuse me:

  I'm using nagios-3.0.b7 on FreeBSD 6.2.

  Here are the sample lines that I pasted from the nagios.cfg.

  cfg_dir=svchosts.FBSD03/
  cfg_dir=svchosts.FBSD03/clients
  cfg_dir=svchosts.FBSD03/servers
  cfg_dir=svchosts.FBSD03/networks

  I commented out the last 3 lines and did nagios -v on the
nagios.cfg.

  It errors with no hosts and services defined.

  When I removed the comments from those last 3 lines and redid the
  nagios -v on the nagios.cfgit did not error.

  Chris

[...snip]

 Hmm...maybe try dropping the trailing slash? I know this worked for me
 on 3.0.b6. I'm setting up 3.0.rc1 on a new box now, will test.

I tried either:

cfg_dir=svchosts.FBSD03
cfg_dir=/usr/local/etc/nagios/svchosts.FBSD03

Both were still giving errors as long as the last 3 lines, that I
mentioned
in my previous email, were commented out.

[Nagios-users] Service duration problems

2007-12-26 Thread magic_rooter
Hello! I have very important problem that annoying me very much:(
I can't solve it for months. I use Nagios v. 2.5 (RHAS3) for a year.
It is good monitoring system but smth strange is with event duration
in availability report and Current State Duration field when I look
at Service State Information. These values are different! I can't see
the real statistics-how much server is in current state:(.
I played with all nagios parametrs in nagios.cfg, searched info in
internet. And didn't find anything.

For example. I have service Ping on server. I see that it is 0d 0h
10m 27s in state OK in Service State Information. But when I look at
its avail.cgi I see:
27-12-2007 00:00:0027-12-2007 10:06:56 0d 10h 6m 56s+
I want to mention that nothing happend with server 10 min ago!:(It is
wrong statistics.
Also I have found strange thing. In this strange case Last Check
Time field is the same as Last State Change field.

Where is the truth? Why the time is different? How it works? Does
duration calculates in both cases differently and maybe not from one
data file?
