[Nagios-users-br] Oscilando

2009-06-12 Thread Giovanni Antonio Mantelli
Boa tarde Lista, tudo bem?

Meu nagios está um pouco estranho.
Uso o plugin do firefox Nagios Checker e constantemente a monitoração
fica caindo.
hosts no estado Down, e no resto do tempo eles são listados como UP.

do ndoutils?

Re: [Nagios-users] Nagios Reboot Notification

2009-06-12 Thread Paul Weaver
Sure it will. uptime is a counter that increases from 0 to infinity
(essentially) and resets on reboot. The snmp check I use says
that if that counter is less than 50,000ms (~8.3 minutes),
show a WARNING. If you check every minute, you'd see a
WARNING status for 7 or 8 minutes, then a reset to OK.

You're pretty lucky if your box reboots inside a minute -- it takes

them) or that it's checking _very_ frequently. There's no
 magic 'some box just rebooted'
 protocol...

Hmm, a trap coming from the PSU (sudden current change), or switch (link
going down then up)

Most monitoring systems I've seen use uptime, keep a track of the last
value, and the time it happened, then alert if that value resets to
close to zero (or even if it returns outside of a predicted range). The
reason you keep a track of the value is to avoid broken alerts when the
snmp counter rolls over.

Btw, can I just manually move one file (check_http) to the libexec dir after
'make' or does 'make install' do more than that?

Subject: [Nagios-users] check_hpasm (3.5) problem on RHEL3

I have check_hpasm installed successfully on RHEL3 but I am unable to
get it to work (I have it working correctly for me on RHEL4 and 5). Here
is the problem that I face with RHEL3:

[nag...@mysys nagios]$ /usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_nrpe -H localhost
-c check_hpasm

UNKNOWN - insufficient rights to call /usr/sbin/hpacucli

[nag...@mysys nagios]$ sudo /usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_hpasm -v

UNKNOWN - insufficient rights to call /usr/sbin/hpacucli

My /etc/sudoers has

nagios
ALL=NOPASSWD:/sbin/hpasmcli,/usr/sbin/hpacucli,/usr/local/nagios/libexec
/check_hpasm

Calling /usr/bin/hpacucli works correctly using sudo:

[nag...@mysys nagios]$ sudo /usr/sbin/hpacucli

HP Array Configuration Utility CLI 7.40.7.0

Detecting Controllers...Done.

Type help for a list of supported commands.

Type exit to close the console.

=

[nag...@mysys nagios]$ sudo /usr/sbin/hpacucli -s help

To enter the ACU CLI console type:

   hpacucli

Commands can also be executed from outside the

ACU CLI console using the syntax:

   hpacucli target command [param[=value]]

All targets, commands, parameters, and values must be entered in
lowercase.

The only exceptions to this are user-specified names, such as
chassisname.

target command [param[=value]]

target is of format:

  [controller all|slot=#|wwn=#|chassisname=AAA] [array all|id]

  [physicaldrive all|#:#:#|allunassigned] [logicaldrive all|#]

Note: The first # in physicaldrive is only needed for systems that

specify port:box:bay. Other physical drive targeting schemes

are box:bay and port:id.

Example targets:

   controller all

   controller slot=5

   controller chassisname=Lab C

   controller serialnumber=P21DA2322S

   controller wwn=500308B300701011

   controller slot=1 array all

   controller slot=7 array A

   ctrl slot=1 pd allunassigned

   controller slot=2 logicaldrive all

   controller slot=5 ld 5

   controller slot=5 physicaldrive 1:5

   controller slot=5 physicaldrive 1E:2:3

command can be create,delete,modify,show,rescan

For detailed command information type any of the following:

   help add

   help create

   help delete

   help modify

   help remove

   help shorthand

   help show

   help target

   help rescan

What else could I try?

Thanks!

Dei,
Are you having the same problem as I am? Until recently, it was working
fine. Then I implemented SSL on OWA and since then I've been having the
issue I described earlier. It occurs even when I don't use SSL, so I
don't know exactly what might be causing it.

Anyway, the command I used successfully before was:

check_http -H exchserv1 -u /exchange/nagios -a dom1\nagios:nagiospass1
-s nagios : Inbox

That's exactly what I'd expect to see when you don't actually request
the page with content, and just call the main frameset page.

I see the same error if I disable frame support in Firefox. Anyone else
monitoring OWA content?

What content are you actually looking for? Is there a specific email
you're looking for? If so, you don't want to call /exchange/nagios,
you want to look for the INBOX instead. If you view the source of the
frameset page, you will see two frame calls, the body looks something
like this:

FRAMESET
  FRAME name=navbar src=./?Cmd=navbar
  FRAME name=viewer src=Inbox/?Cmd=contents
  NOFRAMES
BODYPThis page uses frames, but your browser doesn't support
them./P/BODY
 /NOFRAMES
/FRAMESET

Note, I have trimmed the code to make it actually readable. You can
see the navigation bar, and the inbox calls. So your nagios
check_http call should in fact look like this:

./check_http -H exchange -u /exchange/nagios/Inbox/?Cmd=contents -a
dom1\nagios:nagiospass1 -s

Another note, you'll find the code for {name} : INBOX is split by HTML
code, so your check needs to account for it. In my case, the check
would be:

   -s 'Jonathan Angliss/B/FONT/A/FONT..'

If you're just looking for the name resolution, just use that instead.

I just did a quick test to validate, and it looks like the following
page is expecting session data, so you might end up having to string
together a number of tests using cURL, or using webinject to login,
and access the page.

Re: [Nagios-users] Read Only CGI Patch

2009-06-12 Thread Max
Hi Mike,

Derrick, the author of the patch, and a friend of mine, might be able
to help you with that. He updated the package for Nagios 3 when we
wrote a book on Nagios together, but yes, was a little while ago.

Derrick?

 All,
On Nagios 2.9, I was able to perform the Nagios Read Only CGI patch and
run make cgis without any errors.

But I am just slightly afraid of running make install-cgis now since
the patch is really for Nagios 3.0.3.

Has anyone else out there done this?

 Mike
