[Nagios-users] $NOTIFICATIONISESCALATED$ not defined
Hi, Back in April there was a thread about the macro $NOTIFICATIONISESCALATED$ in note defined. See: http://www.mail-archive.com/nagios-users@lists.sourceforge.net/msg25665.html I stumbled upon the same problem. I only get a "$" sign. Is there any solution for the problem? [Nagios-users] looking for a check servertime against main time server
Hi! Question: I'd like to have a plugin that checks if the time of a server is synced with the main-time-server in our network. The ones I found just check the servertime against the local Nagios server. Anbody got a good plugin? Re: [Nagios-users] notification_interval depending upon contact
What I have been thinking about for a while and would really love to see is to have notifications become first class objects in nagios, like escalations, completely detatched from services and hosts. If we had servicenotification hostnotification Then configurations become hugely more flexible and easy to scale :) at the price of some serious recoding of parts of the nagios core and breaking backwards compatibility, so not easy by any measure. The high port side is surely the port used by the outbound NSCA connection to receive data during the conversation. Your firewall believes that outbound connection is terminated but the central host is still trying to close or reset the connection. While I'm certainly no TCP expert, the RST itself might be normal for Linux and HP clients (at least according to Wikipedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transmission_Control_Protocol - Connection Termination). I doubt it's NSCA itself and more likely to be your OS, but again, I'm no expert here and just edu-guessing... -- Marc -- Enter the BlackBerry Developer Challenge This is your chance to win up to $100,000 in prizes! [Nagios-users] Contact with separate notification_interval
We are attempting to funnel Nagios service and host check information into an enterprise ticket/problem handling system. This works fine using a specially formatted email. But we get a ticked created for each mail, so we need only one mail sent to this contact. Unfortunately it looks like the notification_interval can only set on a host or service, but not on a contact. So we loose repeating remainders for everybody. Is there a way around this ? (one contact getting a single mail, others getting repeat notifications ?) [Nagios-users] NRPE + check_oracle + XINET.d = Problem
Hi Nagios community, I got a problem with NRPE Addon working under XINET.d when the check_oracle plugin is used. If the NRPE service is started as a "deamon", the check_oracle plugin works fine. But if I use check_oracle under XINET.d I got this following error: Cannot determine ORACLE_HOME for sid DB1 I googled it and most of people says to check the owner and read/write parameters of the Oracle path/directories and Nagios paths. But it don't solve my problem. I tried to initialize the XINET.d with the "-d" debug parameter and I didnt see and error message. I think there are a solution for it. Re: [Nagios-users] Contact with separate notification_interval
You could fudge it with service escalations. define serviceescalation { hosts * services * first_notification 1 last_notification 1 notifiation_types c,w,u (r?) contact_groups ticket_system } define serviceescalation { hosts * services * first_notification 1 last_notification 0 notification_types c,w,u,r contact_groups everybody_else } That syntax isn't 100% right but hte idea should work. -Gius Markus Baertschi wrote: > We are attempting to funnel Nagios service and host check information into > an enterprise ticket/problem handling system.
