Assaf, Thank you fro the reply, but the command does not give me any reply-back. I suppose it is because the problem is not in nagios .cfg, but in hostgroup.cfg. Re: [Nagios-users] problem creatin hostgroup
Thanks for all the mails. The command below could not catch this one. You can test it yourself by inserting a wrong name in members, and see if the command pics it up. It does not. The problem was that the names specified in the individual server cfg files (first line, after define host,host_name) the host_name was serverone.vodacom.com with an alias of serverone, and in the host_group it was only serverone without the domain name. This mismatch caused the problem... tricky to spot if it is the first time... Thank you all for your help. Hope that the questions and subsequent answers I generated will make it easier on those to try it in the future. [Nagios-users] NRPE install vs. SSL
Hi all, During my NRPE install on Solaris 10, I ran into the problem that the SSL libraries are not visible to the install process. The install process is looking for it in /usr but in effect there is a link in /usr/include/openssl that points to /usr/sfw/include/openssl. Some products allow you to specify parms when you install, can I do the same here to get past this hurdle? Marc, I installed Redhat RHEL 64bit. I made no modifications at all. The main purpose of this box is to run this nagios test server. I just looked thru httpd.conf, and couldn't find anything in there. What should I be looking for? I expected it to read the value from /usr/local/nagios/etc/htaccess.users I even had a look at service --status-all | grep mysql, and could not find any mysql running. This is bisarre. I am really stuck here.
