[Nagios-users] Separate config files

2006-08-04 Thread Nazar Kulynych
Is it possible to separate hostgroups into different files.
For example, I would like to have production hosts in one config file
and development hosts in another.

if so how,

Thanks!

[Nagios-users] Nagios Users

2006-07-09 Thread Nazar Kulynych

Is there a way in nagios to separate user permissions to see individual
host groups.

For example, one user could only see hostgroup_1 and another user to see
only hostgroup_2
and all the services related to that hostgroup?

Thanks

[Nagios-users] Nagios and Firewall/NAT

2006-06-29 Thread Nazar Kulynych
Hello list,

Is there a way nagios can check remote computer that is behind a firewall.
I would like to install nagios on a server that is directly accessible
from internet.
and I would like it to check servers that are behind a firewall.

Perhaps there is a client that checks the system, and sends out outages
to nagios server?

Thanks

Thanks,

I'm reading an old forum post, and wondering which is better NRPE vs NSCA

Any thoughs?

Install NRPE on the box behind the firewall. It will obviously need to

it uses some odd port, but you could tell it to use something your
firewall allows (if your firewall is blocking outgoing connections at
all), so long as that's not disruptive to services on either box.

Re: [Nagios-users] Nagios and Firewall/NAT

2006-06-29 Thread Nazar Kulynych
Just from implementation prespective on NRPE would be best for my, but
I'd imagine
I'd have to punch a hole in the firewall to allow nagios execure NRPE on
remote host.

Is there a port range?

Morris, Patrick wrote:
They serve two very different purposes. NRPE is used to execute Nagios

On most of my installations, I use both.
