[Nagios-users] Need help with Nagios, PERC, and likely false warning
I have a Dell PE2950 with PERC 5/i. The server suffered a failed disk under RAID 0. I obtained a replacement disk, rebuilt the system from the ground up (new logical volumes within the controller, new OS install) and the system is happy now. I installed nagios on a low-end PC (CentOS 5), and obtained nrpe from Nagios, installed a couple OpenManage plugins - Report and Storage. Both nagios plugins report the PERC as status Warning - PERC 5/i is Non-Critical/Degraded. The report and storage nagios plugins, along with a few other Dell plugins, all show the RAID volumes and disks as perfectly healthy. Are the Warnings a reflection of the OpenManage files obtained via yum, the nagios plugins (both plugins show the same issue), and/or does the RAID controller actually have a flag I missed, that still needs to be cleared, though the RAID was rebuilt? [Nagios-users] Need help with nrpe
I have some Dell PowerEdge Linux servers that I want to monitor with nrpe. I've installed nrpe daemon on the servers, and nrpe client on my nagios station, which is a simple low-end desktop. I've configured nrpe enough that nagios at least presents me with a service line on the server that the service has returned a response it cannot handle - not an error, but more of a null. I'm trying to get some perl scripts from nagiosexchange to be utilized. I am able to run the scripts fine from the command line and see their details, but having problems figuring out how to properly configure nagios to get me the results properly. I've got the OpenManage scripts, along with some basic Dell Hardware ones. Beyond this, I may implement similar configurations on non Dell hardware, so getting it working here can lead me to configurations in a more flexible environment. I happen to be using CentOS 5 and RHEL 5, all out-of-box, all items from CDs installed, no updates applied. Thanks for any insights. Scott - Check out the new SourceForge.net Marketplace. [Nagios-users] Nagios service for Windows?
Has the Nagios central service been ported to Windows? I know the central monitoring system is available for the Redhat and Debian worlds, but does it exist for Windows? I have a Windows XP machine I may want to use as the NOC. Thanks. Scott - This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
