[Nagios-users] nrep error: libssl no such file or a directory

2010-04-08 Thread Shashank Kamble
Hello,

I am new to Nagios. I am trying to install nrpe2.12 on Solaris 8. I compiled
it without any error, and made all the necessary changes that required NRPE
to run. But, whenever I try to run "/usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_nrpe -H
localhost", I am getting following error.

ld.so.1: nrpe: fatal: libssl.so.0.9.8: open failed: No such file or
directory

I did some research online, but still no luck, could you please help me with
this issue.

Thanks,
Shashank

[Nagios-users] Nagios on solaris 8: NRPE issue

2010-04-08 Thread Shashank Kamble
Hello,

I am having issues with installing NRPE plugin to on one of "Solaris 8" on
SPARC machine. I successfully installed Nagios Plugins. Here is the problem,

1) I added the following entry to /etc/services:
nrpe 5666/tcp # NRPE

2) Then add the following line to the end of /etc/inet/inetd.conf:

nrpe stream tcp nowait nagios /usr/sfw/sbin/tcpd /usr/local/nagios/bin/nrpe
-c /usr/local/nagios/etc/nrpe.cfg -i

3) Next, we need to convert it to SMF by running

# inetconv

With Solaris 10, we use SMF. Is there any particular documents or steps I
have to follow to install NRPE on Solaris8. or am I missing some steps.

Could you please help me with this issue.

[Nagios-users] check_http issue

2010-04-08 Thread Shashank Kamble
Hello,

I am newbie to Nagios. I successfully installed Nagios and its monitoring
most of our windows and Linux servers. Currently, I am having issues with
the one of the website we support for our client. I defined a host and also
defined an http service to monitor the website:

Here is host and service definition to monitor a website.

define host{

 use  windows-server

 host_name   illinoistollway

 aliasillinoistollway

 addresswww.illinoistollway.com

 contact_groups  admins

 }

define service {

use   local-service

host_name   IllionisHighway

service_description HTTP

check_command  check_http

}

But I am getting an error that host is down and service is not monitored as
well.

Could you please guide me how to resolve this issue?

Thanks,

Shashank
