I have master master replication setup for ndo. I ran into big log file
issue. I found this php script for log rotation and modified few things to
work on my setup. This works fine for me. I hope this helps.

I don't know if you would need those binlogs, that's up to you
and your setup. If you don't know what you usually do with
binlogs, you probably don't need them...
