This is a common problem if you happen to have two instances of Nagios
running. So the obvious plan is to stop Nagios the normal way. Then see
if anything is still lingering about and shoot to kill them. Tehn
startup Nagios again.

If the problem remains also check that you are not mixing startup methods.

[Nagios-users] Interesting Challenge (Hosts & Services Missing... some of the time)

2007-11-25 Thread Chris Schuld
Hello All:

I have a new Nagios setup with everything running nearly perfect... except
this.

If I click on "Service Detail" under monitoring -- I only get my "full list"
of services about 60% of the time. The other 40% of the time I only get
just the services under localhost.

My services and hosts are broke into a two files (one for local host & the
original default settings for the local host and a second file which holds a
list of servers on our network).

It is almost as if the nagios daemon does not see my second config file some
of the time... this is actually true on any of the links but it appears to
happen more on "Service Detail."

I am using 3.0b7 and curious if this has ever happened to anyone else at
all? I searched the mailing list and forums and came up empty handed.

Thanks,
Chris
