Re: [Nagios-users] What happened during night for services that failed and timeperiod was off
I found a solution based on summary.cgi I think i'll use custom time range to recover hard states from the night in a html file then send it via email each morning. Sry for my bad english Mark Elsen I think ur making a joke on my sentence but I don't understand it :( Cheers 2011/1/31 Breandan Dezendorf : > Perhaps write a script to calculate the timestamps for the > non-notification window, grep through the nagios.log, looking for > HARD/CRITICAL events for the services in question, and then > individually run the notification processes within the script? > > Any way you slice it, I can't think of a clean way to do it. > > On Mon, Jan 31, 2011 at 10:01 AM, dave stern - e-mail.pluribus.unum > wrote: >> I'd try to write a wrapper for an event handler that checked >> the time and kept a log. Re: [Nagios-users] What happened during night for services that failed and timeperiod was off
Perhaps write a script to calculate the timestamps for the non-notification window, grep through the nagios.log, looking for HARD/CRITICAL events for the services in question, and then individually run the notification processes within the script? Any way you slice it, I can't think of a clean way to do it. Re: [Nagios-users] What happened during night for services that failed and timeperiod was off
Ok thanks for the idea (sry for double mail, I thought the first one didn't work). I'll try to write something like that using the doc http://nagios.sourceforge.net/docs/3_0/eventhandlers.html 2011/1/31 dave stern - e-mail.pluribus.unum : > I'd try to write a wrapper for an event handler that checked > the time and kept a log. Re: [Nagios-users] What happened during night for services that failed and timeperiod was off
I'd try to write a wrapper for an event handler that checked the time and kept a log. A morning cron could then check for presence of the log and if it exists, email to you On Mon, Jan 31, 2011 at 9:46 AM, Tntteam wrote: > Hello there, > > I'm wondering if there is a way to make nagios send notification for > services which failed during non notification timeperiod ? > > I mean if I define a service with a timeperiod for ntifications from > 7am to 7pm, and the service fails at 4am, there will be no > notification sent unless I set up a resend notification interval. > > There are services that doesn't need a resend plus I want all missed > notification to be sent at 7am. > > Like a night notification digest, or "what happened from 7pm to 7 am" > to be sent at 7am, when the service enters in the notification_send > period. > > > > Any ideas ? > > Thanks > > -- > Special Offer-- Download ArcSight Logger for FREE (a $49 USD value)! > Finally, a world-class log management solution at an even better price-free! > Download using promo code Free_Logger_4_Dev2Dev.
