Can you provide some information about your configuration , it might shed some light on your problem? Is the data base active ? did you specify the scheme as specified in the NDO documentation ? It may sound silly , but in what sequence is your nagios/mysql starting ? Stop both of them and make sure all process are gone , then start nagios , an after it start mysql . That may solve the issue .
