Re: What happened to Cogent?
I was on the phone with the NOC earlier and was informed that they were having trouble in the DC area. I am seeing problems heading out of their Philly POP into DC. Some sort of switch or software failure on a switch. No ETA although things seem to be working on and off right now.
Cogent
Can anyone shed some light on the current Cogent latency issues? The scoreboard is lit up like a Tree ... Thanks. Joe
cogent and level3
Does anyone know what the story is with Cogent and L3? I noticed that my Cogent site (IN NY) is using a path to one of my providers (IN NJ) via asia as opposed to the local and preferred L3 peer. After several days I was finally told that L3 and Cogent are working through some peering negotiations and cogent is moving traffic off their L3 peer in anticipation of a depeering (I guess they are trying to avoid the whole France Telecom thing that happend last time). Does anyone have a better clue as to what is going on and where the negotiations stand?
Can someone from AOL contact me offlist?
Root DNS servers
Does anyone know what is currently happening with the root DNS servers? I'm currently unable to do A and MX lookups on some domains while my service providers DNS server appears to be ok ...
Root DNS Servers 2
The problem appears to be with ipc.com nameserver = NS60.WORLDNIC.com. ipc.com nameserver = NS59.WORLDNIC.com. Anyone know what's happening?
Re: Lots of big web sites broken...SPOF
Any idea on the cause or the ETA to restoration of service? From here, I'm seeing multiple Akamai servers on multiple networks just not responding to HTTP.
