Mirapoint Message Director appliances
Does anybody have any experience with the MD400/MD450 appliances? Good/bad/indifferent Do they do anything I can't do myself with Sophie, Cyrus IMAP, Postfix and SpamAssassing on a decent PC? Would you recommend them for high volume VISP mail hosting? (around 600k domains) Thanks for any opinions anybody has. P.

I also wouldn't be using a single PC. Thought so - but if you spend some time putting things together, you get more bang for your buck from postfix + courier + other stuff. Scale horizontally - more cheaper boxes rather than fewer pieces of big iron. You'll be able to build something quite large that way. Its a complete platform - Hardware, OS, Software Also, Ironport is supporting some sort of Bonded Sender program, so that may be a key thing to look for as well when buying something like this.
