Subject: Iowa outage(s)?

Anyone else seeing outages/partitions in Iowa? I'm seeing stuff back up in my
outbound mailqueues for places that get their DNS from at least one provider
(rdi1.com) in Iowa, and their phonetwinkie reports that the outage is
"statewide".

Common Reliable Out Of Band Management Options at Carrier Hotels

2017-01-17 Thread Darin Herteen
Greetings list,

We are exploring standardizing our Out Of Band options across our network and
various off-net locations and the question was brought up "What about carrier
hotels? What constraints might present themselves at those locations?"

Assuming each hotel we are located in can provide either Ethernet or DSL I'm
guessing that is going to come a cost (cross-connects, rack space etc..) that
might end up being cost prohibitive.

So my inquiry is... What does the list find to be a reasonably priced yet
reliable solution in carrier hotels for OOB? Or is that contradictory :)

Thoughts on Cellular?

Any experience/insight would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Darin

RE: Marriott wifi blocking

Yes, I've tested it quite effectively using WLC 5508 and a AIR-CAP3502I-A-K9

Re: Cisco ISE

2017-10-06 Thread Darin Herteen
Any particular part of the product giving you trouble or just the migration to
the product itself ?

Running 5.7 here a multi-vendor endpoint environment using both TACACS+ &
RADIUS for device administration and have been curious about the pain I may or
may not have ahead of me...

Proceed with extreme caution. You may want to have that end of life ACS
deployment bake for another six months. You will want to have the highest
level of Cisco engineering engaged should you choose to go this direction.

As would I. We are going to start a project that is replacing ACS 5.7 with ISE

Is anyone successfully deploying ISE 2.X? I’m six months into it on about
10,000 endpoints and it seems like it’s a highly challenged product. I’d love
to hear your experiences on or off-list. Thanks in advance.
