2014-11-10 Thread Jay Ess
I have had problems reaching www.mysql.com (AS794 Oracle) from AS39651 (Comhem

Looking glass from Level3 and Telia shows me error as well.
Can give login to a linux shell for troubleshooting.

Off-Topic: Seeking sponsor for infrastructure related site.

2010-08-30 Thread Jay Ess

First of all i want to apologize for the off topic nature of this post.

I am seeking sponsorship for one of my hobby project. My needs is one or two
dedicated servers on a stable network in USA and or Europe.
DNSDigger.com is one of my hobby projects that has outgrown my own means of
hosting as i am on 75% sick leave from my ordinary job.
DNSDigger is a database of domain and hostnames that is resolved into
IP-adresses and can show what domains a IP-adress (or IP-span) has "behind".
The data is collected by downloading com/net-zone from Verisign and http
spidering. Then "simply" resolving all the hundreds of millions of hostnames and
make it search able. This sounds like a bandwidth hog but i actually run all
this from a home private cable connection (dont tell anyone ;) and i have had no
troubles except for outgrowing my Pentium D "server".

If you find this service fun and valuable and have the means of providing an
high end dedicated server plus hosting i would love to hear from you.

An "powered by "-link/button and information page will be offered.

That is definitely the best answer--if you don't like it, do one (at

Zzz.

I think I am probably a member of the target audience, and I though it
was great (and recommended it to other folk).

I like it for what it was. But i agree with Mike's points.
This video is something i could show my mother when she asks "how the
Internet works" and thats pretty much it.

Amazing how many people there are that can't do it, but can find fault
with those that can and do.

So, for example, if i don't like how a car works i must be able to build
a car to be allowed to voice my opinion?

Whilst it may have been established by one of the Microsoft founders,
what does that have to do with Microsoft's corporate charitable giving?
I would guess that the money originally comes from the profits of MS so
i think its related. But you are right that it does not come directly
from MS.

In November 24th 2008 Sunet together with Telia and Sprint reached 40Gb on one
wavelength using TAT-14. The total length for the project was 9600 kilometers
(the length of Sweden plus TAT-14).
