[neonixie-l] halfway OT: dot-matrix VFD from Sony Minidisc
Got broken Sony Minidisc player with damage to pickup mechanism, beyond repair. There is nice VFD inside with 12 5*7 elements, looks too good to be thrown away. It is labeled with 1-517-575-11, made by Futaba. Driver IC is OKI MSM9202-02. I'd like to use this set in a project, however, no idea how to format and send data to driver IC. Anyone expirienced with this driver to point me where to start from? Tomislav -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups neonixie-l group. [neonixie-l] looking for Weston: Cold cathode glow discharge tubes
Hello guys, I am looking for the book from G.F. Weston, Cold cathode glow discharge tubes, 1968, but it is (surprisingly) sold out everywhere ;-) is there someone so kind to provide me a PDF or some other ebook? Thank You! Anyone expirienced with this driver to point me where to start from? I've worked with similar chips (MSM5267B-15 and MSM5839B, from VFD displays in elevators). They have fairly simple serial interfaces, and support a bunch of VFD drivers and generally a small keypad. A trivial web search yields the data sheet for your part (almost, it's a -01 instead of a -02, but I doubt that's terribly significant) at alldatasheet.com: http://pdf1.alldatasheet.com/datasheet-pdf/view/11416/OKI/MSM9202-01.html The folks at alldatasheet prohibit deep linking to their data, so that link gives the entertaining message: Your require pages is cannot open by blow Reason: Connect this pages through directly deep link And a button reading If You Want to View Datasheet, Click To Here !!. And you could chase your tail back through their structure, only to arrive at a tiny embedded viewer for the PDF that won't let you save it. So I did the legwork for you, extracted the PDF, and uploaded it to my server for you: http://www.vitriol.com/pdf/MSM9202.pdf - John -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups neonixie-l group.
