I'm no crosscompilation expert, but the --build=i386-linux does not 
look like a good way to get a PPC build...

 After the compilation gets overd , how i need to validate 
 that it is compiled for ppc?

Copy the snmpd executable to your PPC machine and run it.  If it 
complains about not having any access control configured, then you built for 
the right target (note that there will be a process running, even though it 
can't talk to anyone).

Just do file snmpd. It will answers
