I suggest that you use *either* 5.3.0.1, *or* 5.4.1
Trying to mix different versions is a Bad Idea.

If you want to install the 5.4.1 distribution, then make
sure you remove the 5.3.0.1 version first.

Self-compiled or a binary distribution?
What O/S  distribution are you working on?
