wouldn't you agree?

What are the ownership/permissions of the named directory?
Is it locally or remotely mounted?
Who are you running trapd as?

It is mounted locally .
I checked /home/rajesh/net-snmp-5.2.1.2/agent/mibs .This mibs directory is
not there .MIBS directory  should be /home/rajesh/net-snmp-5.2.1.2/mibs.How
can i change this path which it is taking .

./snmptrap -v 1 -c public 10.9.10.195 TRAP-TEST-MIB::demotraps 10.9.10.195 2

i am getting the following results

what does this Broken pipe means ..

Probably that you have a traphandle directive that
isn't correct.  Either it refers to a program that
doesn't exist, or this program is exiting before it
has read all the input.  Either of these are likely
to confuse the main trap receiver.

I tried running the command
snmptrapd -f -Le -Dparse-mibs
But it is giving following results .

parse-mibs: Module SNMPv2-SMI not found
parse-mibs: Module RFC1155-SMI not found
parse-mibs: Module RFC1213-MIB not found
parse-mibs: Scanning directory /home/rajesh/net-snmp-5.2.1.2/agent/mibs
parse-mibs: No index
parse-mibs: cannot open MIB directory
/home/rajesh/net-snmp-5.2.1.2/agent/mibs

and the contents of TRAP-TEST-MIB.txt are as follows exactly as given in
tutorials

TRAP-TEST-MIB DEFINITIONS ::= BEGIN
IMPORTS ucdExperimental FROM UCD-SNMP-MIB;

demotraps OBJECT IDENTIFIER ::= { ucdExperimental 990 }

demo-trap TRAP-TYPE

What may be the problem ??

looking. Run

What does that show?

Also what are the exact contents of the file
TRAP-TEST-MIB.txt ?I doubt that's the problem,
but it's something to check.

Hi

I Issued the following command
./snmptrap -v 1 -c public 10.9.10.195 .1.3.6.1.6.3.1.1.5.3  10.9.10.195 2 0
' '  1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.1 i 1

It is giving following result for snmptrapd

But when i run the following command mentioned in tutorials
./snmptrap -v 1 -c public 10.9.10.195 TRAP-TEST-MIB::demotraps 10.9.10.195 2
0 '' 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.1 i 1
it gives the error
Cannot find module (TRAP-TEST-MIB): At line 0 in (none)
TRAP-TEST-MIB::demotraps: Unknown Object Identifier
USAGE: snmptrap [OPTIONS] AGENT TRAP-PARAMETERS

where am i making mistake ?

That's probably the problem, then.
The 'mibs' directory is part of the source tree, and is
used for distibuting the MIB files that we supply.
You need to copy this MIB file into the *installed*
MIB directory - typically /usr/local/share/snmp/mibs
