Done. Didn't figure that removing the issues would also shift the order of test
cases, sorry for that, but I don't have time to re-sort them again right now...

I only went that route because the zip file that was pointed to had
“linux” in the file name. Forgot that with NB/Java that didn’t matter

I will give that a try.

 Hi everyone,
I just now finally had some time to install NB 9, I hope someone can
 answer it:
I just downloaded the NB master branch from GitHub and everything built
fine on my Mac. NB 9 itself seems to run fine as well (using JDK
1.8_172). But whenever I try to run my simply test project, I get a
 runtime error:
 run:
 Exception in thread "main" java.lang.RuntimeException:
 at sasdatasetreader.SASDatasetReader.main(SASDatasetReader.java:1)
 /Users/thwolf/Library/Caches/NetBeans/dev/executor-snippets/run.xml:111:
The following error occurred while executing this line:
 /Users/thwolf/Library/Caches/NetBeans/dev/executor-snippets/run.xml:94:
 Java returned: 1
BUILD FAILED (total time: 3 seconds)
I tried running it with JDK 9 as the runtime platform, but same thing -
runtime error (just slightly different wording). I don't see anything in
the IDE log that points to any problem and when I run the command the
output window tells me to run the application with, it works fine:
 /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.8.0_172.jdk/Contents/Home/bin/java
 -jar
 "/Users/thwolf/NetBeansProjects/SASDatasetReader/dist/SASDatasetReader.jar"
I'm running on macOS (10.13.3). The same project runs fine in NB 8.2.
Does anyone know what’s going on? I will try running an even simpler
 project next, I guess.
 Thanks a bunch,
 Tom

Ok, cloned the specs:

BTW, there are a couple of issues linked there which referenced 8.0 and
are marked resolved anyway, I figure they can be deleted from the 9.0 spec?

Yes, of course. Removing of obsolete issues should have been part of the
TS review exercise.

Also, when I mentioned the test results, I meant I had actually gone and
run thorugh all the code folding tests on Netbeans 9 beta already, but I
see that actual testing is supposed to begin now, lol.

:D If that's the case, then offer your help to some other tribe which is
understaffed. Or create a test assignment for yourself in the test run
for what you already tested and formally execute these and record your
work. This is actually very desired!

Thanks Jiri,
I only went that route because the zip file that was pointed to had “linux” in
the file name. Forgot that with NB/Java that didn’t matter much...getting old
I guess :-(

I will give that a try.

Glenn, just wanted to inform you that once you create an assignment for
someone and that person starts the execution of that test specification,
it gets closed for structural changes like adding new suites/cases. All
you can do is to modify already existing test suites/cases be that your

I'd like to ask for volunteers to test the various sections of the

[profiler] Friday meetings

2018-03-21 Thread Glenn Holmer
I'd like to do our Friday meetings (3/23, 3/30 and 4/6) on IRC because
it has the lowest barrier to entry. I've set up the channel #nbprofiler
on freenode for this purpose. If you aren't familiar with IRC, you can
use the freenode web client:

https://webchat.freenode.net/

Just make up a nickname (mine is Cenbe) and enter "#nbprofiler" in the
channel field. Wait a few moments for the channel window to appear, and
then you can just type text into the entry field at the bottom. Dead
simple, nothing to install, no account to set up.

When shall we meet? I see the following time zones for the people who've
responded:

Glenn Holmer (GMT-6)
Josh Juneau (GMT-6)
John Kostaras (GMT+1)
Mark Stephens (GMT)
Rick Hegarty (GMT-5)
Sven Reimers (GMT+1)

I suggest either 15:00 or 18:00 GMT, what do you think? For the first
meeting, I'd like to discuss the changes to the test specifications and
test suite assignments.

Hi Maven tribe folks,

We have only one spec to test [1] for now. Let me know if you want to run
tests I will assign the specification to you.

Javaee spec need further code donation otherwise we only test former version
of Netbeans (8.2).

Platform spec need some changes in the release workflow of Netbeans Apache
otherwise we test former version of Netbeans (8.2, or SNAPSHOT of Oracle
NetBeans)

For the meeting session, I ask for a channel (netcat-90-maven) in
netbeans.slack.com I will need your ID to invite you. I cannot use skype for
technical reason. If you know better tech let me know.
