I-D Tag:draft-ietf-netmod-artwork-folding-12.txt

URL:https://www.rfc-editor.org/info/rfc8792

DOI:10.17487/RFC8792

This document defines two strategies for handling long lines in
width-bounded text content. One strategy, called the "single
backslash" strategy, is based on the historical use of a single
backslash ('') character to indicate where line-folding has
occurred, with the continuation occurring with the first character
that is not a space character (' ') on the next line. The second
strategy, called the "double backslash" strategy, extends the first
strategy by adding a second backslash character to identify where the
continuation begins and is thereby able to handle cases not supported
by the first strategy. Both strategies use a self-describing header
enabling automated reconstitution of the original content.

This document specifies three YANG modules and one submodule.
Together, they form the core routing data model that serves as a
framework for configuring and managing a routing subsystem. It is
expected that these modules will be augmented by additional YANG
modules defining data models for control-plane protocols, route
filters, and other functions. The core routing data model provides
common building blocks for such extensions -- routes, Routing

[netmod] RFC 8343 on A YANG Data Model for Interface Management

2018-03-16 Thread rfc-editor
A new Request for Comments is now available in online RFC libraries.

RFC 8343

Title: A YANG Data Model for Interface Management
Author: M. Bjorklund
Status: Standards Track
Stream: IETF
Date: March 2018
Mailbox:m...@tail-f.com
Pages: 49
Characters: 91573
Obsoletes: RFC 7223

I-D Tag:draft-ietf-netmod-rfc7223bis-03.txt

URL:https://www.rfc-editor.org/info/rfc8343

DOI:10.17487/RFC8343

This document defines a YANG data model for the management of network
interfaces. It is expected that interface-type-specific data models
augment the generic interfaces data model defined in this document.
The data model includes definitions for configuration and system
state (status information and counters for the collection of
statistics).

The YANG data model in this document conforms to the Network
Management Datastore Architecture (NMDA) defined in RFC 8342.

This document obsoletes RFC 7223.

This document is a product of the Network Modeling Working Group of the IETF.

This is now a Proposed Standard.

STANDARDS TRACK: This document specifies an Internet Standards Track
protocol for the Internet community, and requests discussion and suggestions
for improvements. Please refer to the current edition of the Official
Internet Protocol Standards (https://www.rfc-editor.org/standards) for the
standardization state and status of this protocol. Distribution of this
memo is unlimited.

Datastores are a fundamental concept binding the data models written
in the YANG data modeling language to network management protocols
such as the Network Configuration Protocol (NETCONF) and RESTCONF.
This document defines an architectural framework for datastores based
on the experience gained with the initial simpler model, addressing
requirements that were not well supported in the initial model. This
document updates RFC 7950.

We should notice this as we read through the document (including the
description and reference text in the YANG module). However, placing
a note within the document somewhere that acts as a reminder to update
the I-D string with the appropriate RFC number is never a bad thing.

[netmod] RFC 8199 on YANG Module Classification

I-D Tag:draft-ietf-netmod-yang-model-classification-08.txt

DOI:10.17487/RFC8199

The YANG data modeling language is currently being considered for a
wide variety of applications throughout the networking industry at
large. Many standards development organizations (SDOs), open-source
software projects, vendors, and users are using YANG to develop and
publish YANG modules for a wide variety of applications. At the same
time, there is currently no well-known terminology to categorize
various types of YANG modules.

A consistent terminology would help with the categorization of YANG
modules, assist in the analysis of the YANG data modeling efforts in
the IETF and other organizations, and bring clarity to the YANG-
related discussions between the different groups.

This document describes a set of concepts and associated terms to
support consistent classification of YANG modules.

This document is a product of the NETCONF Data Modeling Language Working Group
of the IETF.

DOI:http://dx.doi.org/10.17487/RFC8022

This document contains a specification of three YANG modules and one
submodule. Together they form the core routing data model that
serves as a framework for configuring and managing a routing
subsystem. It is expected that these modules will be augmented by
additional YANG modules defining data models for control-plane
protocols, route filters, and other functions. The core routing data
model provides common building blocks for such extensions -- routes,
Routing Information Bases (RIBs), and control-plane protocols.
