That is interesting, I had assumed it to mean any.co.uk cookie.

Fay didn't have any specifically like that, with nothing preceeding the
.co.uk. (Assuming that's what you meant).

I do see there are a number of cookies that start with a dot, like
.lloydstsb.co.uk and .imdb.com or .google.co.uk

Ah well, I understand very little of it, all I have to do is keep her
machine running okay, then peace reigns in the house.

Just noticed its Thunderbird doing that. On some lists the Reply To All
button replies back To the list as expected, on others such as this one
it replies To the sender and CCs the list.
I suspect it may be the lack of the Mail-Followup-To header on posts by
this list. Please could the administrators look in to it, to prevent
annoyance from people receiving two messages.

That's because you're confusing two independent concepts.

Reply/Reply-To-All are meant to reply to a person or group of people.

List-Reply is meant to reply to the mailing list.

That thunderbird only provides the former of those is a deficiency in your
chosen mail client and something that you will have to work around. The
mailing list is configured correctly, rather than with concessions to inferior
software.

Mail-Followup-To is the responsibility of the sender normally, indicating
whether they would prefer to be replied to directly, or if they prefer that the
replies be directed at the list. The only reason I don't yet use them is
because I haven't quite formulated a preference.

Unfortunately with people using mail clients which don't pay attention to the
list headers, there's not a lot we can do without breaking it for those of us
who use clients which do.

If any of you can determine a mailman setting we may have overlooked which will
swap things around (without overwriting the Reply-To header which belongs to
the originator, not the mailing list) then please tell me and I will
reconfigure the list appropriately if it won't break anything else.

Regards,

Daniel.
