[newbie]SNF Mandrake 7.2 and VPN
Hi, Recently I have installed Mandrake SNF on my home network - all standard internet services seems working well, but I still cannot connect to my corporate network via VPN, but when I for testing boot my firewall box into Coyote linux router - VPN connection working well. Title: Message Hi, Some help needed , after instalation of latest mdk freq which based on on mdk8 i have th following problem: each of my cdrom and floppy can be used only once after each rebooting, another time when I try to read any media from these devices I receive warning that I doen't have permisions to read from these devices or mount points, even if logged as root any help very appreciated regards Andris

At first if you want to use your CDRW you should enable scsi emulation, which can be done by putting the following lines in your LILO config file: append hdc=ide-scsi , if your CDRW drive is connected as Secundary Master ,don't forget after this rerun lilo , and take a look at /dev/cdrom to see references to real devices as example dev/cdrom - scd0 or dev/cdrom - hdc Of course you can run HardDrake and go to cdrom section to refer how your drives is recognized - normally should be two entries for CDRW one as hdc device and one as scd0 device. After the installation I had the same problem with ppp, but I fixed this problem by putting additional lines in my modules.conf in accordance with kernel 2.4.2 changes doc for using ppp as modules. [newbie] Help needed: dialup problems
Hi, all After upgrading kernel to 2.4.2 on LM7.2 I got the following problem: Dialup doesn't work anymore Modem dials number without any problems, but after connection is established pppd daemon dieds saying that kernel doesn't support ppp or cann't load module, but I know for 100% that ppp support I include in kernel as module. btw, with LM8 I got same problem. [newbie] Internet connection sharing
Hi, all I have the following problem: my previous configuration for ICS (to connect home network to internet using dialup) was easily installed from Drakconf panel and work well with kernel 2.2.17 , but after kernel update to 2.4.0 its doesn't work any more and how understand from error messages the ics method used by kernel 2.2.17 an drakconf doesn't supported or implemented by 2.4.0 .
