[newbie] Changing Kernels in Mandrake 10
Hello, I have tried installing the 2.4 kernel using the control centre. When I check to see what software I have installed the 2.4 kernels is displayed, which indicates that it is installed right? If that is so then why can I not chose the 2.4 kernel when it boots up? And why does it always run the 2.6kernel? Or maybe a better question is how can I install and use the 2.4kernel? Thanks to all. [newbie] Installing Speedtouch USB
Hello, I am a complete newbie to Linux, having finally made the plunge from a lifetime of Windows I must admit Im utterly perplexed with how difficult it is to get my modem working. I would really appreciate some guidance for a complete bozo. I have downloaded the binary file from http://www.speedtouch.fr/support_fr.htm and have decompressed them. So my question is: How to install the files? I have 2 .eni files(KQD6P1.eni and KQD6P2.eni) on my desktop. There is no readme file to go with it so what happens now? Once I have installed these files. What do I do next? Thanks for any support.
