AW: [newbie] A note about subscription...

2000-05-19 Thread Christian Mathes

Hi all,

Sorry to disapoint you, but you could be wrong. Everyone can post to the
list, but non-subscribers will have to CONFIRM every time they post a
mail. This could be annoying after some time, but it is nessesary to avoid
spam.

I my opnion this is not correct. I am absolutely sure that I really am
subscribed to this list. However I never get a request for confirmation when
I post to this mailinglist.

With kind regards

Christian

AW: [newbie] staroffice as user

Dear David,

I had the same problem. You have to install SO as ordinary user, and
everything works fine.

With kind regards

AW: [newbie] once again: ISDN setup

2000-05-16 Thread Christian Mathes

Dear Paul,

thank you for your e-mail. What is ISDN4Net ? Is it a software ? A
configuration tool? Or an URL in the WWW ?

With kind regards

Christian

My problem is that I can't find these files. There is no directory
/isdn/profile on my PC.

Find the ISDN4Net setup on the net. If you want, mail me privately and I
can send it to you. I am sure I still have it somewhere. :)

Paul

[newbie] once again: ISDN setup

2000-05-15 Thread Christian Mathes

Hi folks,

First I would like to thank all who tried to help me with my ISDN
configuration.

I think the easiest to understand solution is offered in the online manual

at www.mandrakeuser.org

According to this manualI have to edit these files:

'/etc/isdn/profile/link/myisp', your dial-up profile
'/etc/isdn/profile/card/mycard', your hardware profile
'/etc/ppp/pap-secrets' or '/etc/ppp/chap-secrets', your password file
'/etc/resolv.conf', the DNS data file
'/etc/rc.d/rc.local', your start-up batch file
'/etc/isdn/profile/link/myisp'

My problem is that I can't find these files. There is no directory

/isdn/profile on my PC.

How shall I continue now?

With kind regards

Mathes
