[newbie] Displaying KDE on WinNT using Exceed 6.1

2000-11-15 Thread James, Rick

I am setting up a Mandrake 7.2 PC as a remote fileserver with no monitor.
When I try to display KDE on a WinNT station using Exceed 6.1, everything
initially looks OK but then the icons on the Panel menu disappear and the
Panel becomes unusable. The Desktop icons and the Desktop menu work fine.
The Panel menu is the most useful application launcher and it would be great
if it worked.

Click DrakConf then Startup Services and make sure the 'inet' button is
depressed.

I am having trouble with telnet. I can telnet out to other machines but
I can not telnet in (connection refused). Any ideas?

Thanks,

Joe

I've found a clue. While the KDE session is opening in the Exceed window, a
small Klipper window will appear briefly. If I'm really fast and can kill
that little window before it closes itself, all is fine except that Klipper
doesn't work. (I don't care about that.) This is probably a bug.
