I need to start making some scripts for my web servers running mdk 9.0 and
9.1. Mostly for backup (filedb) purposes. I really dont have any experience
in this kinda scripting so can anyone tell me where can I find manuals or
some sort of starting guidelines.

[newbie] Startup progs

2003-05-30 Thread Kalle Saarinen
hello,

I need to start my MySQL at boot time. I'm using runlevel 3 so I think that
I have to create link from /etc/rc3.d to /init.d/mysql to start the daemon
right?

How do I create the link?

Thanks

-Kalle

You should just be able to run drakxservices and find MySQL in the
dialogue box and put a tick mark next to it so that it starts at system
boot - as well as to start it right then and there.

Getting down and dirty into your startup scripts shouldn't be
 necessary at all, mate.
